My Top 5 Worst Dresses of 2013

Sooo sorry for the lateness of this post. There were some pretty heinous missteps this year, but most of those were done to obviously look tacky and gain attention (Miley and Gaga, I'm looking at you), so I chose to ignore them. Maybe they'll take that as a hint and not try so hard next time!

Anyways, my top 5 most hated outfits of the year are:
5. Kristen Stewart
The new face of Chanel, Kristen Stewart, could use a little help in the wardrobe department every now and again. She tends to take one step forward, and 3 steps back! My issue with this outfit is those pants are terribly ill-fitted: too long and too wide. The crop sweater looks a tad off and the sweater around the waist doesn't need to be there. It's not a belt and this isn't the nineties! And don't get me started on the hair...

4. Jennifer Lawrence
Sorry J. Law fans! I know you think she can do nothing wrong, but then she comes out in a dress like this! It's a hot mess of sheer, ugly belt and tacky onesie undergarment.

3. Dakota Fanning
The dress is a bit too much for her: The busy pattern, the exaggerated sleeves and skirt, the boxy, shapeless silhouette. It's avant garde that can't be pulled off by just anybody.

2. Heather Graham
Seafoam green? Since when is this ever a good idea? The design is ambitious, but ends up look like a cross between Ariel in the Little Mermaid and a bridesmaid gown disaster!

1. Lena Dunham
The star of GIRLS on HBO has had a hard year (or two) in fashion. This time at the emmy's, she went for a dowdy floral in an unflattering shade of green. Her hair and tattoo (and I LIKE tattoos) and her makeup did nothing to soften her look as well. The eyeshadow was too garish, the hair too boyish. Nothing about this look worked.

Miranda Kerr: A New Chapter...

I am a HUGE Miranda Kerr fan! She's not only my favorite model, but also the fashionista I watch most. What I also respect about her is that, like me, she is a huge environmentalist, a devoted yogi (more than a decade) and is a giving person. She's a smart businesswoman too with her own brand of Organic skin care products called Kora, that even Nicholas Ghesquire is a follower of. Today, I learned she was let go of her Victoria's Secret contract. GASP!! I respect her too much to repeat the lame gossip surrounding VS's decision to not renew her contract. Instead, I want to celebrate her natural beauty and style and career. I have a feeling she'll be moving on to something big soon...

The second most googled thing about Miranda? Her Hair! One of her beauty secrets is drinking 4 teaspoons of Coconut Oil a day.

Such a perfect face! Those eyes!

The number one most googled thing about Miranda? Her body, of course! Miranda says she likes to exercise up to 5 times a week. Her exercise of choice seems to be Yoga and Pilates, which tone and lengthen your body.

Adorableness!

Cool outfit choice #1...

...and #2

The Australian beauty is also a mother. To son, Flynn Christopher (Christopher is after her ex-boyfriend) And she's married to the very lovely and very hot actor Orlando Bloom.

Cookbook Release

Hi all! I'm back with some news: My mother just wrote her first cookbook! It is available on Amazon and kindle http://www.amazon.com/From-Scratch-Ms-Amy-Melecio/dp/1482614901/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1364977213&sr=8-1&keywords=c.+amy+melecio

A little about my mums background: She has over 15 years of baking experience, is a graduate of the French Pastry School and has worked alongside renowned Master Chefs, including Stephanie Izzard of Girl and the Goat, and has catered to french dignitaries.
My mother knows over 400 recipes, including breads, desserts but not including savory items. Because, honestly, I have nooo idea how many savory items she knows. There's a lot!
She also makes drinks, like this Mexican rice based drink, Horchata, from scratch. Look for her next book,   cocktail recipes, this Summer.

QUICHE, MY PARTICULAR FAVORITE.
My mother is also a clothing designer. Now you know where my obsession with clothes started from! Her fashions have appeared on N~Beat, AmericanLatino TV and ABC7 Chicago. She owned/designed for Modern Image Fashion House and currently owns/designs for Designs by Ami.

PECAN PIE, MY TOP DESSERT
Fun fact: My mother and her sister, Martha, are often collaborators. All the pictures you see here on this post were taken by Martha! Tremendously talented sisters!

Speaking of collaborations, My Aunt and Mother are in the process of having their first show. A cooking show of course ;p (Martha has 2 decades of being a production assistant under her belt and has written scripts and worked behind the scenes of WNBA games and currently works at JBTV, as an editor. She has a degree in Broadcast Journalism and had a popular podcast, DJ Nikki C, which she is rebooting.)

Beauty Inspiration: Natalie Wood p.II

So you know how much I love Natalie Wood. Here I am again to focus on her beauty! I love copying the way she did her eye makeup. I also have round eyes, so I use her cateye style liquid liner as an inspiration.

This pic has two very cool points: 1. her amazing eyeliner. 2. her amazing braids.

Sort of a softly lined eye with possibly the coolest bobbed hair ever
