Overall, I notice so much oversized quirky layers and hats! There's a sense of humor and lightheartedness when approaching fashion.

HONG KONG

I love the slightly avant garde, fetishy approach to style in hong kong. It can be a bit dark and edgy.

INDIA

I'm rather surprised by the westernized style. Kind of a mixed bag of feminine and trendy.

ITALY

Everybody loves Italian style. Especially the Italians. I found a lot of black, gray and chicness. The bright color of choice seems to be cobalt.

MEXICO

Mexican Street Style has to one of my favorites! It's so colorful and feminine!

PARIS

Again, lots of gray, black and pops of Cobalt. Tons of chunky scarves and skinny jeans. Parisians know what they likeand always look so put-together!

SPAIN

Very high-fashion or a kind of funky casual cool vibe. Loved the spanish looks!

SWEDEN

Chunky layers, Sleek slacks and so much black!

TOKYO

Playful, youthful, and a bit tongue in cheek.

Old Hollywood Beauty Inspiration: Dolores del Rio

A mexican from a affluent family with spanish (meaning spaniard) ancestry, Dolores set out to become an actress after her family lost their wealth after the Mexican Revolutionary War. She may not be a household name, but in Mexico she is the quintessential face of femininity and is considered something of mythical status throughout Latin America. Even Marlene Dietrich considered her friend Dolores "The most beautiful woman".

Before Rita Hayworth, it was Dolores that was wrapped around Orson Welles arm. He considered her his 'Greatest Love'. That man sure did have his way with beautiful woman! It must've been the whole genius autuer thing ;p

She was popular with American audiences in the 20's, 30's and 40's, and starred alongside fred and ginger (and taking top billing), Anthony Quinn, Sophia Loren, James Stewart and even Elvis Presley. But once it became hard to find good roles and make box office hits in Hollywood, she left to mexico to revive her film career. She didn't come back to Hollywood until the 60's.

Some other facts: She was a devout Roman Catholic, she is one of the 'Four Ladies of Hollywood' gazebo near Hollywood's Walk of Fame, She studied Dance and she was married three times, widowed once and produced no children. Which is a shame, really. Those kids would've been stupid stunning!

The second most popular silent film star of her time, just behind Mary Astor. She was one of the few exotic types (Pola Negri and Theda Bara were the other two) in a sea of blondes.

Ummm, she has a Barbie. This is pure awesomeness!

Old Hollywood Style Profile: Natalie Wood

I will be the first to say that out of all the Old Hollywood stars out there, with their beauty, talent, personality and glamour, Natalie Wood is my favorite. You could argue that she didn't have a specific article of clothing that was a trademark (like Elizabeth Taylor and her jewels or Sophia Loren and her snug dresses) and that her style was more trendy, but that's what me her kinda cool actually. She wore white fur wraps as easily as she wore boho-chic vests and mod shifts. Have you ever googled this woman's style? She looked perfect in everything and never lost her natural essence.

One of the things that drew me to Natalie Wood in my teens were her eyes. I was in the Library and stumbled upon one of her biographies and I instantly felt a connection to her. I thought her eyes conveyed so much soul and depth of emotion. An angsty teen like me immediately 'got her'. I couldn't have had more emotion at that age!

When it comes to Natalie's talent, I always feel she's underappreciated. Okay, so she didn't have a great Puerto Rican accent in West Side Story (being 2/4's Puerto Rican and 3rd generation American myself, I have never been able to pinpoint what dialect of Spanish she was using), and her dancing and singing has always been criticized, I say, who cares! My God, have any of these people watched more than 2 movies of her 4 decade long career? How about Splendor in the Grass, Miracle on 34th Street, Rebel Without A Cause, Love with the Proper Stranger, This Property is Condemned and, a particular favorite of my mother's, Sex and the Single Girl? I think she was well beyond a true artist. Someone who was able to translate her vulnerability the to audience in a uncomplicated way. Oh, and by the way, she wasn't that bad in West Side Story...

Another reason to love Natalie: Look at her! She was beautiful! When I look at her face and body type, I can't believe how piss poor celebs look nowadays. There's just no comparison. She was a natural beauty (who loved her eyeliner). No botox, lip injections, cheek implants, face lift, breast implants blahblahblah. This is what good genes produced.
